“Green” Home Tour In SouthWest Miami

Last weekend I went on a tour of Green Homes presented by the Miami AIA and the Miami Realtors Association and sponsored by EWM Realty International and Professional Bank. As a realtor I would say "green homes" unfortunately are still a little ahead of the curve for the general public in Miami and Coral Gables. Their systems may demand a little more work than the public wants and their construction costs can be more expensive than non "green homes". Still...Continue Reading!

Joe’s Stone Crabs In South Beach

Yesterday EWM Realty International had its annual luncheon at Joe's Stone Crabs in Miami Beach's famed South Beach neighborhood. Joe's is probably the most famous restaurant in Miami and deservedly so. The food is excellent, and the quality of service is beyond compare. This is Joe's 100th year of operation and when you consider the most restaurants cannot maintain their quality of food and food service for too long this is quite an achievement. When you are in Miami plan...Continue Reading!

The Giant African Land Snail…A Problem In Coral Gables And The Rest Of Miami

The appearance of the non indigenous python in the Everglades is the big news, but there are other non indigenous creatures in Miami and South Florida. The one we have in Coral Gables and South Miami is the Great African Land Snail .Yesterday I ran into the team working in the High Pines neighborhood who actually showed me an infant snail they had captured. These snails are dangerous to about 500 different species of plants, and, if they eat rat...Continue Reading!
Sony Open Tennis

One of the great things about Miami is that there is always something to do. Last night which followed a rainy afternoon my son and I attended Day Two of the Sony Open on Key Biscayne. We saw American James Blake handily dispatch the younger American Ryan Harrison 6-2, 6-2 and American Christine McHale beat wild card entrant Anett Kontaveit of Estonia 6-2, 6-1 If you ever get a chance to attend the Sony Open....Go!!! Not only are the best tennis...Continue Reading!
Congratulations to Miami For Their Assistance To The Homeless

Miami can be very thankful for many things not the least of which are its warm water and sandy beaches. But, something that gets scant attention is it caring approach to its homeless population. A number of years ago Alvah Chapman, who at that time was the publisher of the Miami Herald, decided that something needed to be done to assist our homeless. and he with other community leaders formed a public/private organization called the Community Partnership For The Homeless,...Continue Reading!

Miami-Dade County Inventory And Sales Statistics 2012

As you can see residential real estate in Miami has rebounded from the great recession and recorded more sales in 2012 than it has in any year over the last 10 years. Our challenge now is the lack of inventory. When the "months supply" (of homes for sale) drops below 6 months home prices go up. For further information text or call us at 305-984-5524.
